Let go...

Here's a little something for my dear friend, Shawie. She asked me if I can make a poem for her and here is the finished product. Hope you like it.

Let go...

She is hanging on a cliff,
my hand clenching hers.

All I remember was:
My hand was slowly slipping from hers,

I didn't know how and
I didn't know why.
but it happened.

As she stared into my eyes,
her hand slowly letting go of mine,
I kept on reaching for her other hand
but to no avail

I didn't know how and
I didn't know why.
but it happened.

It wasn't what I wanted,
It wasn't what I yearned,
It wasn't what I planned...
to let go.

She still stared into my eyes
and as she finally slips from my
now loose grasp.

She falls, along with my tears
I wasn't aware that along with my struggle
that I was harboring tears all along.

Slowly, slowly into the endless abyss.
Zooming out from my view.

Her hair and dress, flinging violently
as she descended alongside
the rough edges.

Eventhough she was zooming out from my view,
I can still feel her eyes saying,

Let go, let go, please.

Begging for me to let go.
I didn't want to...
and yet she forced herself to let go.

I could have saved her,
if I didn't let go...but I did

I did...
...kill for the very first time...

Now, her name still resonates in my mind...
Those eyes, those eyes that talked to me
Let go...please.

I've forgotten how it is to live
as she keeps resurfacing...
like a cancer that slowly grows,
haunting me till the very end.

She knows I killed her,
She knows I still live.

Perhaps I too shall jump off the cliff...
I too shall...
...let go...
...of my life.

This will be the sequel, the narrative part of the whole story of Let Go...
The prequel will be a comic-style illustrative story with no words just visuals.

I also have indeed found a long-lost poem I wrote 8 years ago when it was still 2002,

here's the link.

I hope you enjoy, So just keep checking me back here as I will update my blog within the week.
